Part-Time Pet Care Professional | Glastonbury, CT

 

Paw-Pros is looking for a dependable, compassionate & experienced animal lover to join our team as a part-time, year-round independent contractor. We’re primarily looking for someone who is available mid-day, Monday–Friday to provide dog walks, pet visits, & care. Occasional mornings, nights, and weekends are also available.  You choose when you can work but you must be reliable once you commit.

 

The Right Fit

 

You are someone who:

 

• Has at least 1 year of experience caring for dogs and cats

• Has a positive attitude & fantastic customer service skills

• Is reliable, responsible, and communicates clearly

• Loves animals and enjoys building trusting relationships with pets and their people

• Uses positive reinforcement, humane handling, and force-free techniques

• Is comfortable being outdoors and working in a variety of weather conditions & different terrain (rain, 90+ degrees, snow, ice)

• Has safe, reliable transportation and a reliable smartphone

• Is comfortable using apps, texting, and taking photos during visits

• Is at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check

• Can lift 40+ lbs and is comfortable working with all sizes of dogs (some dogs 100+ lbs)

• Is willing to complete Paw-Pros training, including pet first aid/CPR and canine body language

• Be available on short notice (within 24hrs)

• Understands that independent contractor hours are flexible and not guaranteed

• Bonus Qualities:  Will have a background in an animal based degree or be a current/previous pet sitter

 

What You’ll Do

 

Provide safe, loving care for dogs, cats, and other household pets, including walks, feeding, playtime, medication, litter box care, and detailed visit updates with photos.

 

Opportunities may also be available for administrative & marketing, pet transportation, hikes, boarding, and overnight house sitting.
